Municipal Sports Center of Kalymnos
Kalymnos municipal sports center is a modern sports center, with a Natatorium, an outdoor and indoor Basketball and Volleyball court, a Football field, an Athletics running track and an indoor gym.
Football
Our facilities provide:
• A field with artificial grass, lockers room, showers, WC
• Storage room, training equipment
• A 2000 seats platform
There also is an artificial grass football court in Vathi. Kalymnos has a small 5x5 private court with locker room and a coffee shop.
Athletics
The main track and field facility is located in the main sports compound, which has:
• 6 tartan lanes installed
• 2 long jump pits
• total length of 314m
The gym is also located in the same area.
Basketball
The indoor basketball court of Kalymnos municipal sports center has a rubber floor.
Swimming
The swimming pool is located within the Municipal Sports Center facilities and is equipped with all the necessary preparation areas for all the water sports, such as water polo, swimming, synchronized swimming etc.
The compound is equipped with:
• An outdoor 8 lane, 50m long swimming pool, certified by FINA.
• Locker rooms and a coffee shop
Our island offers a variety of bays and beautiful beaches for open sea swimming. It is worth noting that the Sports Department of the Municipality organizes a swimming race from Telendos Island to Kalymnos Island every summer, the Sunday before the 15th of August. It’s a 1km swimming distance with strong participation of swimmers of all ages and nationalities.
Tennis
On the island, you can also find a tennis court.
